  • Does the delay have to do with Chicago? I rarely have good luck flying from there.
  • Yes, perhaps. But, at least for me, it would be unique to United - I flew in and out of Chicago on Continental during my consulting days and never had a cancelled flight. I don't even think I was ever delayed for that long either, but then my memory can be hazy.
  • Remember the days when I'd fly to Chicago every week to work on the United bankruptcy case, (and see you guys of course)? I built up an INTENSE dislike of all things United. Not only did they make me work in the basement...in Elk Grove...with no windows...and daily alternating sub-zero cold/Africa-hot heat, but I had to fly with them twice a week for 8 months. Lessons learned: 1. Consulting is not for me 2. Avoid bankrupt airlines (reinforced by my nightmare Delta experience in Rome last fall).

I'm 100% behind you on this one Mike.
  • Shannon flew home yesterday on United. Guess what happened on her final leg from DC to Chicago?

...that's right: her flight was CANCELLED!

Here's some good advice: if you are flying between DC and Chicago DO NOT FLY ON UNITED :)
  • I had my worst-ever international experience with United flying from Las Vegas to Munich. Unfortunately, the flight was on time. Unfortunately the check-in staff was also the most inefficient I've ever seen in my life. Even getting to the airport almost 3 hours early was not enough to get through their check-in line prior to the 45-minute cutoff. They tried to make me pay to reschedule my flight. They were mean and rude and defensive -- accused me of calling one of the agents a name and threatened to have me escorted. Long story short, I didn't fly out until the following day, and was delayed 2 hours in Washington Dulles -- so, not the delays are not unique to Chicago. I know you don't know me, but I thought I'd share. I found your blog because I was looking for an awesome anti-united graphic like yours to attach to my own detailed experience.

My advice: Don't fly anywhere on United!
